Scott Sisler bagged the largest stack last night with a total of 417,000. Matt Glantz, a one-time WSOP Circuit gold ring winner, is treading not far behind with 382,000. The player won his gold piece all the way back in 2006. He topped a $500 No-Limit Hold’em event at Caesars Atlantic City for $62,930 and the piece of jewelry. Glantz has cashed in 8 WSOP Circuit events so far. And he has run very well in WSOP events over the years. The player has cashed more than $2.8 million from the popular series annually taking place in Las Vegas.
Ben McCoy with 224,000, Jason Maeroff with 198,000, and Peter Vitantonio with 178,000 were the other three players to make it to top five of the temporary chip counts chart of the ongoing Harrah’s AC Main Event. Vitantonio is vying for his fourth gold ring from the WSOP Circuit series. In fact, the player is coming fresh from a victory in the $365 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo (Single-Day) at Harrah’s. He bested a field of 174 entries for a gold piece and $14,094 in prize money.
Gold Ring Winners Eying More Titles
She first emerged victorious in a $365 No-Limit Hold’em at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek for $10,801 and then bested the field of the $2,200 High Roller at Rio Las Vegas for $72,802.
Janet Fitzgerald, Mike Linster, and Ylon Schwartz were among the players who failed to make it through the day, but they will all be able to fire another shot later today and hopefully secure a seat into Day 2.
As mentioned above, the 19 survivors from Day 1A of the Harra’s AC Main Event will have a day off today and will return at the host casino on Sunday for Day 2. Day 1B is set to be played today, which means that the field and the prize pool will continue swelling up.
The $1,675 buy-in tournament features a guaranteed prize pool of $400,000, which could be reached and exceeded depending on the number of players who are going to register today. The final prize pool, the places paid, and the first-place prize for the winner will be announced tomorrow when registration closes. The tournament’s final table will be played on Monday, which means that the name of the winner will become clear in just two days.
